When your eyes are closed

When your eyes are closed
you may already be living in eternity
seeing time in its entirety
painted with an omnipresent colour
fainted line between stagnancy and continuum

sleeping men

Office is over and we are all now returning to our homes, sitting on the company staff buses. More than a half have already slept. A few awake are either listening to a song, looking introspectively outside the window, or engaged in talking to a special person. Ouf company appears to give us all comforts so that out work schedule is met. It is indeed commendable effort by the company. But in the process, many, I sense, become less energetic and tend to remain in low energy state, as everything is going ok, all needs are being met.
one can not expect a fast growth without a will to grow. The tendency to be less in ambition is likely to affect vision for future. This is not what will move us to a secure future.
It will be better if the sleeping men wake up soon.

Highest CAD

More than it makes me worried, it brings a sense of dissatisfaction to my mind.

The expenditure on imports is way higher than earning by exports. It just shows how dependent we as a nation are becoming on the world. But it's not just this much. What it also shows is that we are not ready to give back to the world as much as we are taking from it. What it also shows further, is that entrepreneurial gains are lagging behind the rising deficit arising out of greater demands made by our consumerist minds. It may also indicate the difficulty experienced by a new entrepreneurial venture, so much that it decides to quit its work, and resort to serving the already existing structure. This would hamper the growth that could have been if his efforts were supported, and he was further encouraged to keep up his determination.
A hidden explanation may also be the reluctance of the earning community to take risk and go ahead, giving shapes to their ideas. Desire for a safety and security based life is overpowering the guts to take risks, hence diminishing the chances of earning greater returns for their ventures, thereby holding the country from enabling her citizens to give their maximum to it.

I am not so sure, but I see that the government is to blame less, less than the citizens, the people are. India is a country with a large weight of numbers in almost all fields. It has large number of millionaires, as well as BPLs; large number of child births, as well as high mortality rates; great army at work, as well as a subordinate class police structure; world class doctors, accompanied by fake certificate holders. The list is endless. Everyone is unique here. The diversity that India holds, not just in terms of culture and religion, but also by work, ethics, structure, talent, it is no less in size than an ocean.
Innovations are made out of need in resource stricken places, like making a leaf puncher with the help of a potato, making a cloth drier with the help of a punctured bowl, etc. However people are reluctant to spread their talent. A cyber cafe owner near my home, he says he is settled peacefully with his shop, and doesn't want to open the shop anywhere else. His business can succeed immensely if he comes out of the coziness. Just 10% of India is using internet. 90% of the space is still to be grabbed, but he is comfortable in his pajamas. A similar case is there of a shopkeeper who has been running his family owned shop. He had been reluctant in using technology in his old shop. Soon, beside his shop, Easyday set its outlet. In order to keep his shop running, he had to spend lacs of rupees so as to keep up with Easyday's service and ambience. Unfortunately, he is still not ahead. His case really shows how not having an ambitious target for growth in today's time can suck you into a black hole of idleness and losses which you hardly thought would happen to your age old, established business. Aah, deviating from the topic! I am here to blame the attitude of many people of today. Risk is an essential part in today's business, be it corporate, governmental or local level. The lack of risk taking initiatives cut away our chances of huge gains, rob us of building up a future Ambani Group and stick hopelessly our future to our past, making us useless(lifeless) in the long run.

Of course government's responsibility arises in this case, as it is in every issue. It takes steps, even if feebly, or ineffectively. CAD is not the government's daily doze of poison. It is a danger to our future, in reality, for we make the government; for we are the government. Widening deficit will mean lesser foreign trust, implying lesser investment in India, leading to smaller growth. As a result, the supply will lag behind an ever rising demand. The demands have to be fulfilled, to money has to be borrowed, fuelling further the widening deficit gap.

The government is careful and must surely be taking appropriate corrective steps. It is our turn to consider this situation seriously and take appropriate corrective steps so that, least of all, our own moral and potential deficits are not reduced to zero.

It happens to everyone

I get reminded of you every now and then
that girl, standing alone in the foyer
while the sun was setting and all of us were
going back from lecture halls to our rooms

A smile was there on your face
which tempted me to think
that you are a saint, happy and content with yourself.
Soon, I found that I had stopped going to room.

An urge appeared, a simple urge though
to go to you and ask for your name,
Though I knew who you were
as you were the only girl in the batch

But the urge was more than for name
It was a selfish urge, an urge to complete myself.
Still, I prepared myself to go to you
With heavy legs and rising pulse.
Earth's gravity had increased manifold.

A pat on the back came... "Let's go mate!"
oh I was, I was, I was ... :(
I did not have guts any more
I gave up going to you and went to my room.
You were still there standing, alone at dusk.

I was stolen of my peace that day
Sun took away a part of mine as it set down.
I remember the Sun was very dull that evening
Oh! You were still smiling, weren't you ?
Please say you were, lest my smile fade away

The same day came again
The same Sun set again
I saw you standing alone again
I did not miss my chance again
I talked to you for the First Time!

I had won my olympic that day
I remember your face of that day
You were still smiling. Oh yes!
You were shining as well.
Oh! Were you my Sun since I saw you ?

I love you :)

(has been 6 yrs now :P since I am singly committed, though only by mind and thoughts)

Not a Full Story

This struggler has been fighting with his own limitations for a long time now, refusing to believe in what many people close to him think. He has less faith in himself, but he still doesn't give up on his resolve to follow his dream.

His bodily distractions are even more venomous to him than his low confidence. His mind sways at resonance with an attractive swinging body. He loses his focus easily when lust and greed overpowers him. Still, he doesn't give up. He remains adamant at sticking to his goal, even after his own inability to control his body.

He does not know that he is a strong man.

Let him go through the time when he realises his Strength!

Wedding Bells

I do not believe, to be honest, in the Greek mythology which said that man was initially born with 8 limbs and god then divided him to a pair, where one would keep on searching for his/her missing limbs, and this is how the bondage of two souls happens in the world. It is more of a fiction to me which has been cherished for its creativity and humor, and slowly turned to a myth with weight.

But I do agree that the satisfaction and happiness that would have happened to the character in the mythology would resonate with the state of mind of the brides and the grooms in marriages. A long missing part(ner) of one's life is going to be added. This bondage is not just cherished by the two involved; it is celebrated by the whole world, as if this bond has just created a new glow in the universe, bright enough to be regarded as a star; a star supposed to be there for eternity, because the 8 limbs have met each other and will not separate ever again.

------------------
The above was a slightly emotional flow of words from my mind. Mostly the emotions flow in my mind is countered by the practical and logical overview of any situation.

I am now forced to see that this marriage is nothing but a socially acceptable form of satisfaction of human needs, that things like love and feelings are so overrated that they are only observed during functions and ceremonies. I am still forced to see the inescapable nature of the bond that is now made, a compromise with the freedom of an individual.

My knowledge humbles my excitement further when I realise that my country is not able to feed all its kids. The sullen smile in my lips wrinkles then and the lips contract as if they were earlier stretched to their discomfort.

-------------------

But then something in my mind rises. A small voice which rises, I think, out of will. (This small voice has always come to bombard the contents of my cranial fill. In reality, this voice comes to a rescue. ) It then says that we may overrate or underrate love, but it will still be love. We may be unable to look fully at the sense of a new beginning but still it will be a new one. Whatever the number of new beginnings happening throughout the world, be they in form of wedding bonds, or bondage to the new world by having a birth, or any other, the startings are new, nascent but FULL of potential. They will shape the new path if they decide. If they see something unacceptable to them they will oppose. If their voice is strong and loud, they will convert it to something acceptable, if not rejoiced over.

It is the new birth which is the most important constituent for dynamism and change. The creation of new things. This unambiguously includes the birth of new bonds, entering into relationship, living like partners, making friendship, birth of a child, inculcation of new thoughts which leads to birth of a new mind, a new thought line, a virtual world, which may then strive to gain real existence.

This small voice, arising out of an unknown place in myself gives me hope that it's ok if I thought along the original lines.

----------------------

I then come back to the first emotional consideration of the event. The birth of a new star, meant to exist for eternity! :)

The above pic is of one of my college mate's marriage. I do not know very much about them, but I always had a feeling that they were happy together. They themselves have not entered into a fresh new path, but to many others in the society, this is a new birth.

May they be happy and content like this always ...

Mother

Written on 14 nov 2011

this makes me puzzled to think
what can i write about this thing

to say the least, she becomes the nurturer
to say the most, nothing can conquer her
she is the essence of the world
the factory of life and dynamism

it puzzles me sometimes
how she can tame someone just by her touch
that how by just a little drop of tear, kingdoms fall
and why can a woman so weaker than a man
guide which way the destiny will take its shape

she is a human, has her own needs
but she forgets them, when children call

why did mother become so important ?
it's not like she is a celebrity
just for bearing a baby,
is this a reason for her greatness ?

Life or freedom

Written on Sept 29

What is more important ? Life of a person or the freedom of that person ?

Is this topic also very much subjective ?

I am afraid this topic is also subjective. This question's answer will vary from person to person.

I thought earlier that everyone would of course fight for his freedom as it is the dearest thing to him. But I ignored 'fear/bondage' that many people hold in their minds, either consciously or subconsciously. Those people are not free and they are content to be like this. They cherish existence as more important value than freedom. A continuous flow of time and space, irrespective of whether the situation is fear inducing or freedom inspiring; this becomes their primary cherished feature of their world.

Who knows who is right among them. They both stand on their own pedestals with no one beside to compare with.

Soul

Written some months back

I do not understand it very much. But whatever idea I get, it seems like pillar of glue to which various features of a living being attach, unconditionally. It's too naive of a definition for soul. But I am unable to come up with a better one. I assumed that soul is a constant unchanging ingredient, inclusion of which in body makes it living and exclusion makes it dead.

I am fascinated by the diversity of the contents attached to the soul.

Congress, Indian National Congress

It started as a representative body of an all nation collective conscience filled people. The senior most member was it's president for the first time.

For the next 60 odd years, it would shape up the fetus of an Independent India so that it emerged strong enough to stand without any support.

As far as I recollect, during all those years, every year the party president changed. Raja Ram Mohan roy, Sarojini Naidu, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Motilal Nehru, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Annie Besant and so many others presided separately over annual congress meetings.

After India became independent, why was this trend changed ? Why has only the Gandhi family headed the party since then ? Why is this family being treated like a dynastic family, destined to rule people ? Why are the members of the party keeping their hands open, apparently begging for their roles from the Gandhi family ?

Is it really a democratic party now?

Prasiddha

An ambition has ended abruptly. I do not like this.

picchar baaki reh gayi. I do not like this.

Life, uff!!

Try to enjoy the journey, Prasiddha, my friend!
